Takraw

FLOWERS returned to Bangkok to document takraw after first discovering the sport several years earlier. Time was spent getting to know the courts, players, and communities around the game, building the project from a deeper understanding of how and why people gathered to play.
Shot across courts throughout the city, the work captures the athleticism and intensity of the sport alongside the world around it. Concrete overpasses, hard light, shadow, and the physical movement of the players became part of a visual language built specifically around takraw.
